Workshop Interaction Points
Are you including interaction prompts in your workshop to encourage engagement? Don't know how or where?
You should include prompts throughout the workshop to encourage discussion and interaction. This helps make the workshop feel more engaging and encourages attendees to interact with both you and each other.
- Go around the room and ask people to introduce themselves
💬 If workshop audience is large --> introduce in chat
- When you discuss pain points
❓ Ask people if they relate / have they experienced this
- Generally anywhere you talk about experiences, problems, pains
❓ Ask if they have been through this, are familiar, have they seen that before, have they gone through that, etc.
- Common mistakes
- ❓ question: Ask them to guess most common mistakes prior to slide;
- 📊 poll: “Of these mistakes, what do you think is the #1 most common?
- Paths to avoid
- Is this something you’ve considered,
- Poll: Has someone in your life / in your career given you the advice to do XYZ
‼️ Disrupt common assumptions
- At end:
- Pause for questions.
- Have a slide that has something like “Have questions?”
- Some examples of questions you can ask / we can discuss
- Takeaways at end of each section (to remind them of what was covered):
- “Here’s a reminder of what we just discussed …
- ..any questions…
- here are some examples”
