Tips and tricks for LinkedIn Posts

→ Comment on your own post 

-Wait 7-10 minutes after posting 

-Comment on your post 2-3x

-Try “pinning” a post using the pin emoji: 📌,  📍

-Other emoji to use:  🧠, ⚡, 💥, 🔥, 🚀

→ Create a templated description of what you do, with call to action

📌 “I help (target audience) stop pain and accomplish (something). If you want to (accomplish benefit), let’s talk. Book a 1:1 LinkedIn Power Hour session with me here:”

→ Comment ideas: 

-Add an additional thought or insight: “P.S. I also think…”

-Ask a question 

-Share internal link: e.g. live workshop or LinkedIn event 

-Link to previous posts 

-Share external link: e.g. your newsletter, an interesting article 

-Post call-to-action  (can be made into template) 

-Share a BONUS (resource or helpful tip) 

-Add selfie or photo 

-Lead-ins:

- “after writing this post, I realized…”

- “another thought I had…”

- “Don’t forget…”

- “ P.S.” 

- “P.P.S” 

- “I forgot to mention…”

- (for posts with lots of comments i.e. prove popularity) “thanks for all the DMs, but please post your comments here” 

- “DM me if you have specific questions”

- “I actually have tips about ___ / insert something. DM me if you want a copy”

- “Big kudos to @ Name,

→ Create an ‘end card’ for your slideshares

-Create a template to add to the end of your slideshares 

-Reiterate benefit and include call-to-action

→ Comment on other people’s posts

-Commenting on content within your niche/  your target audience helps curate your newsfeed 

-Stick around for 10 minutes after each post 

-Create a list of creators whose posts you will comment on (turn on the notifications) 

-Clients (10-15 of top, ideal dream prospects -- turn on notifications bell, comment with value-add, additional perspectives - put time into showing yourself as an expert) 

-Content Creators / Influencers

-Does commenting on other people’s posts feel like ‘hijacking’? Avoid by 1) crediting and thanking creator, 2) offering value and 3) creating conversations (this benefits both you and the creator)

Example:

  • Thank the creator: (“great post, @ Creator ,  really appreciated your perspective on (insert specific thing).
  • Credit the creator for sharing info you didn’t know or changing your perspective “I never knew about (specific thing)...”
  • Share how you use creator’s tips/strategies in your own work: “I use this in my own practice, because ___. I also do XYZ in my practice because ___.”
  • Add additional insights or value: “Great post about ChatGPT. People who do this might also find ___ valuable.”
  • Ask rest of audience to contribute and start a conversation: “What does everyone here think about ___?”
